That squad also lacks quality upfront.

It's a very poor strike force. Not even adding Rooney would make it look more threatening as he doesn't tend to turn up for England. Defoe is a quality player though. And we won the game 2 - 1 in the end, which is very promising.

I got the squad from the BBC website, so I'm not sure about the 2 GK's situation.
